Sure there are days when you roll out of bed all crabby patties and the first hapless tool to ask you a silly question gets repeatedly sucker punched mentally and pile-driven to oblivion. Howsomever, if one were to dial back a bit on a less volatile day and indulge in some fair thoughts, more likely than not it wouldn’t end in a flurry of storm clouds and soggy going-ons in the concluding forecast. In fact, one thing to be grateful for are the think tanks behind Thanksgiving. Likely anticipating the massive angst of the future, some genius in the past came up with the red hot idea to take a day out in the year to dig around a bit to find something to be happy over and taking the time to give it some just due after all the year-long bellyaching. So it may not be filet mignon you’re eating and more like a Big Mac, but hey, at least you’re not chipping away at tree bark and getting your proteins from sand fleas under rocks to snack on right? Also, though the holidays aren’t always top-notch in way of entertaining gatherings, it isn’t all an ugly sweater tossup.
One thing to give thanks to—Midnite Events’ Give Thanks 2009 at The Regency Center November 28th. The EDM scene has come a long way and it’s about time to toss up those glow sticks and recognize the journey and all the good times. In what is Northern California’s most grandiose Thanksgiving event, the love feast that is Give Thanks welcomes Judge Jules, Richard Vission, Richard Durand, TV Rock, Mike Koglin, Le Castle Vania, Deep Voices, Joaquin Bamaca, St. John and a host of others to celebrate and appreciate great dance music that transcends the daily muddle and elevates all to a more blissful state of being. Let’s take a moment to dance to the beat of gratitude and thank your lucky stars for the advent of dance music. Amen!
