Thank You For The Music

Monday at 12:18PM on November 08, 2010

When the social climate is such that worry, fear, uncertainty and insecurity feature front and center in the concerns of the majority, it’s no wonder folks find it rather difficult to find the silver lining and count those blessings that do come their way.  We get upset over what we don’t have and what we wish we did and get plenty sore over all those curveballs flung our direction at all the wrong times.  Be that as it may, it’s good to step aside and take a look at the whole of it now and again to get back into the practice of taking things in stride or risk the chance of going all-out insane.  For those of you who can use a little nudge in the right direction, Midnite Events rolls out their 5th Annual Give Thanks 2010 this Saturday, November 27th at San Francisco’s very own Sound Factory.

Things might be less than ideal but if you’ve still got some partying spirit in you, then that’s something that warrants no little bit of gratitude.  Give Thanks is an event that understands this and has set out to celebrate and appreciate the love of electronic dance music at all its uplifting best within its many permutations in Northern California’s scene through the years.  Featuring three themed areas, eight-plus hours of musical mayhem, a spacious sweep of feet-friendly grounds, and great turntable talents the likes of Bad Boy Bill, Datsik, Inpetto, St. John, and many, many more, Give Thanks gathers all those uplifting things that we can throw up our hands for and say a hearty “Hallelujah” to.  So this Thanksgiving weekend, for who find solace and peace in beats, the time has come to unite and give thanks to that horn of plenty in way of music.
